Hi, I’m Taryn.

For over a decade now I have been working as a communications specialist and content writer across a range of industries. These include not-for-profit, government, emergency services, animal welfare, travel, retail, property, health and well being, food and consumer goods.

I help companies identify their values and business objectives, understand their audience and develop their narrative. I can help you with strategic plan development, social media planning and implementation, digital & print content, and also longer form narrative.

I ensure your customers will connect with you for who you are, what you stand for and how you can improve their lives, all through the power of story.

I am also an avid and very experienced traveller, get overly excited about the latest new food spot, activity craze or far-flung destination. My blog, Voyage Mountain, is my personal journey of all my travel adventures.

And when I’m not travelling the world, I love exploring my home town of Melbourne, eating, drinking and crafting my way through the week.

EXPERIENCE

Zoos Victoria

As the media manager at Melbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary, I shared stories about some of Victoria’s most critically endangered species with publications such as The Guardian, BBC, The Age, The Dodo, 730 Report, The Project, Broadsheet, and much more.

Cassette

Servicing an extensive range of retail and property clients, including GTP Shopping Centers, PACE property development and Green Street Juice Co., I worked across many areas of the marketing spectrum including copywriting, account management, digital development and design studio management.

Victorian Government

As Social Media Manager at Emergency Management Victoria and the State Control Centre, I helped inform and engage Victorians through some of our most dangerous natural disasters.
I also held a position at DELWP as media adviser, working on a wide range of projects across environment, planning, energy and Forest Fire Management.

NDIA

As a member of the Strategic Communications team at the National Disability Insurance Agency, I help the country’s most vulnerable access the best information for their needs through clear, targeted communications.
